The 2014 Akumal Comedy Festival Is Looking For Sponsors!

The 2014 Akumal Comedy Festival is only a month away and they need your support to make it the best even it can be and raise much needed funds for the Red Cross!. The organizers would like to invite local business owners and individuals to support this years festival and become a SPONSOR!

WHAT’S IT ALL ABOUT?  The Akumal Comedy Festival is produced by Stand Up! Records, and promoted by Comedy Playa (formerly, Comedy Below Sea Level).  2014 will be the first year that the festival officially branches out into Tulum and Playa del Carmen with a show at Mateo’s in Tulum on April 29, and a Press Party comedy event at legendary Wah Wah Beach Bar on April 30.  This year will also mark the first time the festival has presented a show entirely in Spanish.  Chris Garcia, Rojo Perez, and Luke Bugeaud will perform at the closing ceremonies.

The festival not only raises money for important causes in our local communities, but it also drives tourism to our area.  Performing arts events, like the Akumal Comedy Festival, also reinforce Akumal’s growing identity as “The Arts Town” in the Riviera Maya.
All festival staff, including the comedians, work on a volunteer basis, and no profit is made for any company or individual.  Each year, the Akumal Comedy Festival works closely with local communities in both Akumal and the Riviera Maya at large, and all Festival proceeds go to a local charity.  This year, the Akumal Comedy Festival is proud to team up with the Red Cross.  Providing essential emergency services throughout the world, the Red Cross is one of the oldest charitable organizations in the world.  Locally, the people of the Mayan Riviera depend on the Red Cross daily, as many areas here are made up of isolated, smaller communities.  Even highly popular tourist areas like Tulum and Akumal rely on the Red Cross for immediate care, community outreach, and life saving training for hotel, resort, and restaurant staff.

1. US$1500 (Only 5 position at this level have been made available.  2 have already been taken so there are 3 remaining)

  • Your company logo on the highway side billboards/lonas.  We have 7 confirmed placements including 3 along the highway in Playa, 2 along the highway in Tulum, one on the Tulum beach road by the Bomberos, one on the side of the highway near Tankah, and we are currently confirming the pedestrian bridge in Akumal.  They will be in place for approx 4 weeks.
